Here We Go Again

One day of Winter 2024 survived. Cooked a beef stew and pumpkin soup. Heated gloves helped.

Winter Stinks

My mission this morning was to pick up several days worth of brown dog poop hidden amongst several weeks worth of brown leaves, before sucking up everything in the mulcher.

I was mostly successful.

Autumn 24 The Soundtrack

Autumn is the season for change. Like, a change in scenery.

This double entendre certainly suits the three months which just passed. Weddings in Hindu temples. Weddings in Circus tents. Beer hunts. Giant cookies. More gym sessions. Walks through sunny hills and valleys. Barefoot walks on sands. Visits to bakeries down south. Food at restaurants in Brisbane's West End. Concerts after dark. Sunshine at lunchtime. Tasting Australia in Victoria Square. Odyssey kingdoms. A vision of 1969 London. Board Games. Sunsets. 39 degrees evenings at the Fringe and 4 degrees mornings testing out the new puffer jacket.

As always, a soundtrack that developed to go with these things. The walking, the exercise, the programming, the drives, the wedding dance floors, the gardening, the soup making and the smoothie drinking. I love music so much.

On This Day

I've always disabled the "On This Day" updates on various cloud services. I'm not allergic to nostalgia, but I do have an intolerance...

But one cloud provider has turned it back on recently with the worst timing, and through June I have rewatched with horror the warm, sunny joys of life in June in the northern hemisphere while it is currently 13° at midday in my house in the southern hemisphere.

For example, today's onslaught included:

Mornings in Austrian gardens.

Hiking through North American wilderness.

Riding the tiny train in France.

And what did I take photos of today?

Frosty family walks for coffee.

Evenings with friends and dogs by a fire.

It could be worse.

Wins and Flosses

Finally, after close to a literal mile of floss in my life, I managed to finish a spool with just the right amount.

Walking in the Rain
